This amulet features a gorgeous chunk of blue kyanite encased in woven copper and trapped with annealed copper wire. When I made this piece, I had intended for the front to be the side with minimal lines in the corners, but upon finishing the piece, I think the back, although slightly more chaotic, also looks pretty.

Blue Kyanite Amulet
We finish all of our copper pieces with wax. However, as the wax wears off, it can leave a green residue on your skin, which washes off easily. If that is something that bothers you, we recommend re-sealing it in wax or lacquer. The easiest way to do this is with clear nail polish.
Typically, as long as you continue to wear your copper jewelry; your skin will rub against it, oiling, cleaning and polishing it. This will maintain a very rustic, natural-looking patina and level of lustre. If your copper oxidizes (goes green) over time, you can clean it and shine it up with any of a number of jewelry cleaners on the market. You can also scrub your copper with baking soda and then rinse and dry thoroughly.
